RICHMOND (WTVR) – Last year, CBS 6 began a partnership with both VCU and the University of Richmond to broadcast a some of their men’s basketball games.
That partnership will continue this year as both VCU and Richmond will be making several appearances on the CBS 6 three stations.
The VCU Rams, who made the third round of last year’s NCAA tournament, will appear five times during the 2013-2014 season. Those games are listed below, as well as their corresponding channel.
Nov. 29 – vs. Northeastern (7pm, CBS 6.1)
Dec. 5 – vs. Eastern Kentucky (7pm, CBS 6.3)
Dec. 17 – vs. Wofford (7pm, CBS 6.3)
Jan. 3 – vs. Stony Brook (9pm, CBS 6.3)
Jan. 29 – vs. Fordham (7pm, CBS 6.3)
In addition, CBS 6 will air 13 pregame shows and 3 women’s games (Dec. 30 vs. ODU, Jan. 15 vs. Fordham, Feb. 8 vs. Richmond) bringing the number of Rams related broadcasts to 21, not counting any games that will be televised by the CBS network.
The Richmond Spiders will be shown 5 times on CBS 6:
Nov. 8 – vs. Delaware (7pm, CBS 6.3)
Nov. 16 – vs. Minnesota (7pm, CBS 6.1)
Nov. 30 – vs. JMU (6pm, CBS 6.3)
Jan. 22 – vs. UMass (7pm, CBS 6.3)
Feb. 5 – vs. St. Bonaventure (7pm, CBS 6.3)
Additional Spider games could still be added to this schedule. In all, a record 12 of Richmond’s 16 home games will be televised, including all of their A-10 home contests.
CBS 6.1 is our main channel, found on Comcast 9 and 212 and Verizon FiOS 6 and 506 as well as DirecTV.
CBS 6.3, Verizon 466 and Comcast 206, is our sub-channel which normally airs CBS 6 weather information.
It can be found on Comcast 206 and Verizon FiOS 466 but is not currently available on DirecTV.
