HENRICO, Va. (WTVR) – A celebration of life was held Sunday for the 13-year-old Henrico County girl who died after falling from Humpback Rocks near Charlottesville last weekend.
Alexandra Babaeva loved being outdoors, so the Lewis B. Ginter Botanical Garden was chosen as the location for the celebration.
Alexandra, who was known as Sasha to her friends and family, was the first in her Russian family to be born in the U.S.
Friends from across the world came to Richmond to honor her memory.
"We just wanted this to be a happy, bright day that celebrated her life and who she was," said Anastasia Romanova.
The family is asking folks who wish to honor Alexandra's memory to make a donation to the Richmond Wildlife Center.
