LOUISA COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) — State Police are investigating an emergency landing of a small aircraft Saturday in Louisa County.
Police say the single-engine Stinson Voyager aircraft made an emergency landing 15 minutes after taking off from the Louisa County/ Freeman Field Airport Saturday morning just after 9:00 a.m.
The pilot, 66-year-old Peter Stetson, tried to return to the airport when the aircraft began sputtering and having problems.
Stetson landed the plane in an open field near the 5900 block of Roundabout Road.
He was not injured.
The incident remains under investigation and the FAA was not notified.
