HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) --All lanes of the Varina-Enon bridge on I-295 are back open after a car crashed into a jersey wall around 7:30 Thursday morning.
Crews from the state police, Chesterfield and Henrico counties all responded to the scene.
Police say a 40-year-old man who was in the car ended up dead under the bridge, but it remains unclear how he got there.
CBS 6 News is told police are treating this as a death investigation.
A female passenger was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The accident closed the south right lane and right shoulder of the interstate at mile marker 18 until around . Traffic was backed up four miles as of 10:30 a.m.
