VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WTVR) -- A group of dogs are safe in the Commonwealth Monday after an animal rescue group drove to North Carolina to save them from a kill shelter.
However, the trip was almost canceled after car problems threatened to derail the journey.
When employees at a car dealership saw the group's beat up car, they decided to loan the rescue group a new ride straight off the lot.
The donation brought the group's organizer to tears.
All six of the animals have been adopted by families.
