RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) — Police are investigating an early morning aggravated assault in Richmond’s historic Jackson Ward.
Officers were called to the 0-hundred block of West Leigh St. around 1:00 a.m. Sunday morning for a report of a shooting.
According to police, an adult female and an adult male were walking when they were approached by a black male brandishing a firearm.
The female victim attempted to run from the suspect and was shot in the leg.
The suspect then fled on foot.
The female victim was transported to the hospital and the male victim was not injured.
Police describe the suspect as a black male approximately six foot two inches tall in his early 40s wearing a white tee shirt and blue jeans.
