MIDLOTHIAN, Va. (WTVR) -- The Chesterfield Police Department's Midlothian station was evacuated after an artillery shell was found Tuesday afternoon.

Capt. McCullough told CBS 6 News that officers that work out of the substation were asked to evacuate as a precaution.

The artillery shell, which McCullough thinks is from the Korean War or World War II, is 105 mm and around 2 1/2 to 3 feet long.

Bomb experts were called to the scene to remove the shell, which officials later determined was not live.
