RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - Police have safely arrested an armed man after an early morning stand-off Saturday.

Police received a call for an armed man inside a residence in the 1600 block of Edwards Ave who brandished a firearm at a woman earlier that evening around 12:45a.m. Saturday.

When officers arrived at the scene they attempted to talk with Edwin W. Coleman Jr. but he went inside his home and refused to come out or speak with police.

A swat team and negotiators were called to the scene.

At approximately 5:20 a.m., officers entered the residence and arrested Coleman without incident and charged him with felony possession of a firearm as a convicted felon, misdemeanor brandishing a firearm and misdemeanor domestic assault.

Police say no one was injured during the incident.

Police aren't sure what caused the stand-off.
