RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – There is a big shakeup in the grocery store rankings for Central Virginia.
In fact, Martin’s has been named the number one grocery store chain in Richmond for the first time since the chain bought Ukrop’s. This is also the first time the chain beat out Food Lion for the top spot.
Food World magazine, which came up with the rankings, said more shoppers are becoming familiar with Martin’s product lines, pricing strategies. Plus, the stores’ alcohol sales also helped boost its numbers.
Walmart and Kroger came in third and fourth on the list. The magazine said both stores have also gained much more shoppers within the last few years.
