HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – There’s good news for the Henrico County man in desperate need of a double lung transplant.
Twenty-five-year-old Tucker Gordon suffers from cystic fibrosis and struggled every day to breathe.
And a few weeks ago, Gordon's friend started a social network fundraiser to help raise money for his transplant costs.
The Richmond-based “#Help Tucker Breathe” social media campaign has raised nearly $40,000 from around the world in six days
CBS 6 News has learned that Gordon's transplant went well and that he will be slowly taken off his ventilator.
"Tucker is finally BREATHING EASY!" Amy Leigh Greene posted on Gordon's Facebook fundraiser page late Friday.
Doctors said they hoped to have him up and walking by Friday.
