CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) — A Chesterfield County man has been convicted on an assault and battery change after a domestic dispute in which police said he was shot by his wife in March.
A judge sentenced Lee Edward Jacobs on Wednesday to 12 months in jail, which has was suspended provided he stays out of trouble for three years, according to the Chesterfield clerk of court’s office. However, Jacobs must also complete anger management courses.
Neighbors said they heard Jacobs screaming for help on a neighbor’s front lawn in the 6400 block of Lake Caroline Court on a Sunday morning in March.
“I asked him was he ok and he said, ‘No, I’ve been shot,'” one neighbor said. “And that’s when I told my mom and she called the police.”
Neighbors to believe he was not the only person screaming for help.
“We know the mom and there is two kids and they have a puppy that comes over and visits a lot,” one neighbor said.
