A historic make-over is underway at University of Virginia, and the renovations to the iconic rotunda in Charlottesville are ahead of schedule.
The scaffolding will come down before spring graduation ceremonies. Students say they’re excited they will be able to walk the scenic lawn.
Crews are working on the roof as the first phase of a $5.6 million budget project to improve safety.
Next crews will work on plumbing, electrical and mechanical repairs to the building.
