RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - Tuesday marked six years since the mass shootings at Virginia Tech.
A statewide moment of silence was observed this morning at 9:43, to honor the 32 people killed on the Blacksburg campus in 2007. Gov. Bob McDonnell joined other Virginians in spirit. He tweeted a pic that he and his staff observed the moment of silence in Beijing.

Lieutenant Governor Bill Bolling led the Day of Remembrance Ceremony at the Capitol Square bell tower.
Some survivors and families of those who were killed were at that event this morning. At midnight today there was a ceremonial candle lighting on the Virginia Tech campus in Blacksburg.
