Roland Martin, a CNN analyst, has announced via Twitter that he is leaving flailing cable news channel in April reportedly because of a decision by the network’s new president.
Politicoreports Martin is getting the ax on April 6 due to a decision made by Jeff Zucker, the cable network’s new president and former NBC alum. The website points out that Martin had been given a two-month contract extension earlier this year.
“Last day at CNN is April 6,” Martin wrote on Twitter Tuesday. “New boss wants his own peeps,” he responded to another Twitter user.
However, CNN has not commented on Martin’s status with the network.
