(CNN) — While we wait to hear who will star in the adaptation of E.L. James’ steamy best-seller, “Fifty Shades of Grey,” it seems Emma Watson has taken herself out of the running.
After rumors persisted last Friday that the 22-year-old former “Harry Potter” star is attached to the project, the actress posted a tweet the following day that seemed to contradict the gossip.
“Who here actually thinks I would do ’50 Shades of Grey as a movie?'” she wrote. “Like really. For real. In real life.”
The rumors were so dogged last week because of an Internet group’s reported hacking of a German movie studio, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The studio confirmed the hack, but said that the documents accessed were “out of date and widely accessible” to the company’s employees.
Watson, meanwhile, teased her fans on Saturday by following up her earlier tweet with just a question mark. She then simply concluded, “Good. Well that’s … sorted then.”
