CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – Fire crews battled a single structure fire Saturday afternoon.
Four engines and approximately twenty-two responders were dispatched to a call of a fire in the 13900 block of Bayport Landing Drive near the Hull Street area.
We were told the call came in around 3:17 p.m. Lt. Jason Elmore says the fire started in the chimney and extended into the attic. There was also some damage to the master bedroom and bathroom. The rest of the house suffered some smoke damage, which burned a hole through the roof.
The fire marshal ruled the fire as accidental.
There were no injuries as a result of this incident. However, one occupant will be displaced.
