FT COLLINS, Colo. (WTVR) — A teenage sensation at last summer’s London Olympic Games will finish out her high school days at a event this weekend, according to theLos Angles Times.
Missy Franklin, who won four gold medals and a bronze in the summer games, is set to compete against other high school athletes in a 900-seat stadium at the sold out event in Ft. Collins, Colo.
The newspaper reports tickets were in short supply because 90 percent were allocated to schools.
Colorado High School Athletic Association Assistant Commissioner Bert Borgmann told the newspaper that Franklin is still competing against other high school athletes because “just because a swimmer competes in the Olympics doesn’t mean that she has left childhood and high school behind.”
