PHILADELPHIA (WTVR) – An aggravated-assault trial ended abruptly when the victim’s glass eye popped out on the witness stand, according to a report on Philly.com.
The judge granted a mistrial because he felt what the jury saw could cause them to have “undue sympathy” for the victim.
The defendant is accused of punching the victim in the left eye during a 2011 bar fight. The victim had his eye removed as a result of the injury.
