Snow causes slew of crashes in Central Virginia

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) —  As snow falls across Central Virginia, a number of crashes on area highways and interstates have traffic snarled.

An accident on northbound I-295 at MM28 in Henrico Co. has closed one lane around 4:15. [BONUS: Click here to watch the CBS 6 LIVE stream for the latest on the snow.] 

An accident on northbound on I-95 at MM75 in Richmond has closed one lane of the interstate around 3:35.

An accident on southbound I-95 at MM83 in Henrico County had one lane of the interstate closed around 3:20.

Another accident on southbound I-95 around 3:15 at MM73 in Richmond closed the center and right shoulder of the interstate.

An earlier crash slowed traffic on the Downtown Expressway. Lorenzo Hall captured the below photo of the wreck.

VDOT reported snow and ice on multiple routes across much of the CBS 6 viewing area and the western part of the state. Conditions are also treacherous across the Northern Neck.
