WASHINGTON, D.C. (WTVR) – There are more than 600 Virginia National Guard Soldiers and Airmen providing support and security for Monday’s Presidential Inauguration in Washington, D. C. and Northern Virginia.
“Virginia Guard personnel are assisting with traffic control, crowd management, communications and chaplain support,” Virginia National Guard spokesman Cotton Puryear wrote in an email. “An additional 100 personnel from the Virginia Army National Guard, Virginia Air National Guard and Virginia Defense Force will conduct mission command and sustainment support in Sandston and other locations in the state.”
