‘Atomic Betty’ snake has annual weigh in

Posted

SYDNEY, Australia (Network Ten) – A massive snake in Australia named "Atomic Betty" had a bit of excitement Wednesday.

The python had to be carefully removed from her exhibit area at the Australian Reptile Park in Sydney for her annual weigh-in.

Several zookeepers had to stand in a line to hold her. Then each one of them stands on a bathroom scale. After that, zoo officials tabulate the readings to figure out her total weight.

Atomic Betty tipped the scales around 306 pounds.

Zookeepers, who weighed the python to keep track of her health and growth, say she eats a steady diet of goats.
