Jersey City, N.J. (CBS) - Screams and panic engulfed a commuter rail station in New Jersey Monday morning when the 'up' escalator changed direction and started to head back down.
The abrupt about face caused some people to jump off mid-ride at the PATH station in Jersey City.
A spokesman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which operates the station, said four people were injured when the escalator malfunctioned shortly after 9:00 a.m.
