BUCHANAN, Va. (WTVR) -- A tractor-trailer hauling turkeys was involved in a pre-dawn crash on Interstate 81 in Botetourt County Tuesday, according to WDBJ.
Police said the driver was not seriously injured.
However, animal control officers were called to capture some of the birds that escaped their cages following the wreck.
Police said some of the animals were killed.
