RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - Virginia State Police is investigating two accidents right near the Bells Road exit on Interstate 95 early Saturday morning.

The first crash happened at 2:30 a.m. and involved two vehicles. Police say it happened when a Toyota sedan ran off the left side of the highway and hit a barricade.  The car then drove back into the travel lanes and was rear-ended by a Nissan.

Officials say both drivers suffered injuries.  The driver of the Toyota was taken to VCU Medical Center, while the other driver was taken to Chippenham.

Police say no charges have been filed against the driver of the Toyota.  They believe alcohol is involved.

The second crash involved two vehicles and a charter bus. Authorities tell us it started when a Ford Explorer rear-ended a Chevrolet Impala. The impact caused the driver of the Impala hit the charter bus.  A person in the Explorer and three people in the Impala suffered minor injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital.  No one on the bus was injured.

The scene was cleared shortly before 4 a.m.
