CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WTVR) - There is an update to that story about the 9-year-old Chesterfield girl collecting teddy bears and other stuffed animals for children impacted by Hurricane Sandy.

CBS 6 News senior reporter Wayne Covil met up with Lizzie Kandaris on Wednesday.

Since the story aired on CBS 6 and went viral on WTVR.com, the stuffed animal drive has received a ton of donations. In fact, Lizzie and her mother, Eva, said they have received calls from people living as far away as Alaska wanting to help.

Additionally, other businesses like Bermuda Self Storage have come forward to help her out and provide a place to store all of the collections before they’re shipped out.
