The nation’s weather pattern will see quite a dramatic change over the next few days. The persistent cool air in the eastern United States will finally get ejected out of the area.
A strong storm is diving into the northwestern part of the country, and this will cause a major dip in the jet stream to develop there. The warm air currently located in the middle and western part of the country will get pushed eastward, reaching our area this weekend.
Highs for Saturday will reach the upper 60s, and should break 70° on Sunday. Saturday’s high will mark the first day in two weeks that most of the area sees an above-normal high temperature. This also spells good news for the Richmond Marathon. Although it will be chilly around daybreak, temperatures will warm quickly during the day. Skies will be sunny and winds will be fairly light.
