HENRICO, Va. (WTVR)—A driver is left dead after a motorcycle accident in eastern Henrico.
Investigators said that a man riding a motorcycle crashed on North Laburnum Avenue, near the Seven Gables Apartments, around 6:30 Sunday night.
Henrico police are trying to figure out of the weather is to blame for the deadly accident.
Police said that he died at the scene.
The driver had been wearing a helmet, but it was lying about 10 yards from his body, said a CBS 6 reporter on the scene.
Police haven’t released the driver’s identity.
This is the second deadly accident in this same location within a month, said police. A memorial marks the spot where the last driver crashed.
A June accident in the same neighborhood left two women dead; and 85-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman. A young baby was thrown from the car and suffered serious injuries.
Neighbors contend it’s a dangerous intersection that desperately needs a traffic signal, with a lot of traffic traveling too fast.
This is a breaking news alert. We will have more information as it becomes available, both on-air and on WTVR.com.
