HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – TSA agents stopped a man trying to carry a gun and bullets onto a plane at Richmond International Airport.
Officials said agents found the .25 caliber handgun inside a the Disputanta, Va. man’s carry-on bag Monday as the bag passed through the checkpoint metal detector.
Capital Regional Airport Commission Police confiscated the weapon and the man was cited for two weapons charges. He was allowed to continue on his flight to Atlanta.
As a reminder, TSA officials said some weapons are permitted in checked baggage, but that passengers must check with their airline for proper procedures, as well as checking into local laws before bring weapons to the airport.
