Skunk tests positive for rabies in Henrico

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – A skunk that attacked a dog in eastern Henrico has tested positive for rabies. Henrico Police spokeswoman Lt. Linda Toney said the skunk’s dead body was discovered on Armstead Circle in Sandston Sunday.

The dog was up to date on its rabies vaccination and will be quarantined for 45 days, Lt. Toney wrote in an email.

She said people call Henrico Police Non-Emergency Communications Center at (804) 501-5000 to report “abnormal wildlife behavior.”
