RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Hurricane Kirk and Tropical Storm Leslie are both intensifying in the Atlantic Ocean, and currently pose no threat to land. Leslie may eventually impact Bermuda next week, but neither system will reach the U.S.
Meanwhile, what’s left of Isaac as a tropical depression is moving through Arkansas now. Maximum sustained winds are at 25 mph, with higher gusts. This system will still be capable of producing heavy rainfall up to eight inches in the Heartland along the Mississippi Valley region. CLICK HERE for a great discussion from the National Drought Mitigation Center about how Isaac’s rainfall will impact the central U.S. drought.
Here’s the latest GOES image of the system, with high pressure over us in the Mid-Atlantic.
