RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – The Meadowbrook Monarchs scored 47 points to beat the Manchester Lancers Thursday night at Manchester High School.
Manchester ran out to a 20 – 0 lead before the Meadowbrook scored its first points.
In the third quarter, Meadowbrook’s Gerard Johnson ran for a 42-yard touchdown. The ensuing two-point conversion tied the game at 27.
Manchester’s Holland Fisher returned a kick off 85 yards for a touchdown to give his school a 41 – 33 lead.
Later in the fourth quarter, Meadowbrook running back Brandon McShine rushed for a score to give the Monarchs the lead 47- 41 win.
The running back’s performance impressed his coach.
“I don’t know how many yard he [McShine] had, but that boy never quit. I’m so proud of him,” said Meadowbrook head football coach Troy Taylor.
