CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – Police arrested a man accused of robbing two Food Lion grocery stores in Chesterfield County. Giorgio M. Brown, 20, is charged with robbery, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and discharge of a firearm in an occupied building, according to an email from Chesterfield County Police Department Public Information Coordinator Elizabeth Caroon.
On Monday night, Brown robbed the Food Lion at 6425 Iron Bridge Place, police said. Investigators said Brown fired a gunshot into the store’s ceiling and ran off with cash. Police found Brown in a vacant home about 30 minutes after the robbery.
Police said Brown pulled off a similar crime on July 19 in the Food Lion at 4116 Meadowdale Boulevard.
Brown is being held in the Chesterfield County Jail pending a hearing in Chesterfield County General District Court.
