HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – Three adults and four children were displaced after a fire broke out in the home located in the 4700 block of Suecla Ct.
A call was dispatched to the Henrico County Fire Department at 8:18 a.m. about a smoke alarm going off. It escalated to a fire and crews were called to the scene.
A neighbor called and said that smoke came from the residence. Later, another neighbor reported that a woman climbed out a window using a ladder. The fire department talked to several people, including the victims, and said that one of the victims pushed out the air conditioning unit to escape through the window.
The cause of the fire was determined to be cooking related. One victim was transported to the hospital for back pain. No firefighter injuries were reported.
