Virginia is for beer lovers

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) -The first official Virginia Craft Beer Month kicked off yesterday. The Virginia Craft Brewers Guild, the Virginia Manufacturers Association (VMA), the Governor’s Office, and the Virginia Tourism Corporation (VTC) has dedicated August as Virginia Craft Beer Month and unveiled the new VTC “Love on Tap” campaign.

Events across the Commonwealth will promote local craft beer and tourism resources. The VTC also launched a new craft beer website featuring a calendar of events and an interactive map of craft breweries.

The premiere event for Virginia Craft Beer Month is the Virginia Craft Brewers Fest – August 25 at Devils Backbone Brewery. The event will feature the Virginia Craft Beer Cup competition with 5 Categories, with a Cup being awarded to the best overall brewery. The event will also include beer tastings, some of Virginia’s best live bands, an amazing food experience by The Rock Barn, the Devils Backbone Mountain Cross bike race, and onsite camping at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

The Virginia Craft Brewers Fest is expected to attract nearly 1,000 people from across
the Mid-Atlantic and will feature over a dozen local craft breweries. Tickets are
