Lightning ignites pool house fire in West End

HENRICO, Va. (WTVR)—Lightning strikes a pool house in the West End, and causes extensive damage.

It happened shortly before s 7 p.m., off River Road. A small storm hit the West End, but firefighters at Station 17 said they felt the station rock from the same lightining that struck the pool house, about a quarter of a mile away.

Cpt. Jim Mellon, with the Henrico Fire Department, said that nobody was inside at the time, and firefighters got control of the flames in about 30 minutes. No one lived in the pool house and no one was displaced from the fire.
