Before strong to severe storms swept through the area, high temperatures cracked 100° for the fourth time this year on Sunday.  Around 3:30 p.m., Richmond International Airport hit 103°, beating the previous record high of 102° set back in 1993.

This also marked the 11th straight day with highs between 94° and 104°.

There was also a record warm low temperature for July 8 of 79 degrees, breaking the old record of 76 degrees in 1900.

With a cold front pushing south of the area on Monday, highs will return to normal levels for the week ahead.
