RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR)–An armed robbery of a male occurred on the Medical College of Virginia campus at approximately 8:48 P.M, at the intersection of 13th and East Marshall Streets.
VCU Police said there are two suspects. One is a black male, in his early 20s with dark skin, approximately 5’11” tall and wearing a black and silver shirt. The second is described only as a black male in his early 20s with a striped shirt.
Police said that both suspects were on bicycles at the time of the robbery.
The victim was in the area and was approached by the suspects on bicycles. Police said after making small talk, one suspect struck the victim in his face and took a backpack carrying personal belongings while the second suspect held the victim in a headlock.
Police did not say what weapon was used to constitute “armed robbery.”
Both suspects were last seen travelling southbound through the courtyard at the Egyptian building and then westbound on East Broad Street, police said.
Police said that if a similar situation occurs, do not resist. They remind citizens that physical identification can help to locate suspect and recommend to focus on his or her physical characteristics, i.e. clothing description, height and weight, and last known direction of travel.
