Richmond police arrest SunTrust bank robber

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR)—Richmond police arrested the man who robbed a SunTrust bank this morning, the fifth robbery in two days around the area.

The Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Rodney E. Smith, age 43, at his home in the 2400 block of Brady Street, about four hours after the crime.

At approximately 10:23 a.m., he walked into the bank at 1518 Hull St., passed the teller a note demanding money and then left the scene on foot. He did not display a weapon.

Investigators were quickly able to identify the robber based on information they gathered.
