Man arrested for killing estranged wife in Hanover shootout

HANOVER, Va. (WTVR) – A 33-year-old man was arrested and charged Wednesday in connection with his estranged wife’s murder during a shootout earlier this month in Hanover.

Hanover County Sheriff's Office investigators arrested and took Ryan P. Markham into custody as he was released from VCU Medical Center.

Markham, of the 7400 block of Colts Neck Road in Mechanicsville, was charged with first-degree murder, aggravated malicious wounding, and two counts of the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony in connection with the homicide of Sabrina M. Markham.

Markham was taken to Pamunkey Regional Jail in Hanover County, where he is being held without bond.
