RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - Hundreds of volunteers spent Saturday morning picking up trash for the 13th annual James River Regional Cleanup, making the river a cleaner place for the summer swimming season.

Volunteers collected 348 trash bags full of garbage, as well as 191 bags full of recyclable materials.

According to Richmond.com, the total amount of materials gathered were less than previous years, even though 100 more volunteers participated this year than last year.
