RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – More scattered showers and heavy thunderstorms are likely Wednesday, especially in the afternoon and evening. A broad trough with associated upper-level energy remains over the eastern U.S. today and into tomorrow, which will keep scattered showers and thunderstorms in the forecast. A few storms will be capable of severe wind and hail, but the primary threats with most of the storms will be very heavy rainfall and frequent lightning. This trough responsible for our unsettled weather this week will slowly move northeast after Thursday, likely giving us a break from storms on Friday.
