HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – Officials said a Richmond man has been charged after fleeing from police and then crashing his motorcycle into an SUV on I-95 Wednesday.
Virginia State Police Sergeant Thomas J. Molnar said Zachary T.Carlson-Morrison, who was riding a 1994 Honda motorcycle, was trying to flee from a Henrico County Police sergeant down I-95 north near mile marker 77 around 4:20 p.m.
As the chase continued, police said Morrison ran into the back of a Ford Explorer and was ejected from the motorcycle and landed in the road.
Carlson-Morrison, who was wearing a safety helmet, suffered minor injuries and was taken to VCU Medical Center.
The 28 year-old driver of the SUV was not injured in the crash.
Carlson-Morrison was charged with reckless driving and failure to have a motorcycle endorsement on his drivers license.
Traffic was backed up in the area after the left lane was closed for about an hour because of the crash.
