HENRICO, Va. (WTVR) A domestic dispute in Varina developed into a situation where a suspect barricaded himself in the home for two hours before police could make contact.

Police said they received a call for service around five Monday evening. They responded to a report that a man was beating up a woman in the front yard of a home off Trailing Ridge Drive in the Varina Station neighborhood.

Police said when they arrived that the man had gone inside, where he barricaded himself for two hours.

During the stand-off, police were unsure if the suspect was armed or not. They finally established contact with him through a phone.

He was arrested around 7:30 p.m. without incident, said CBS 6 Reporter Jon Burkett.
