One year after tornadoes tour through parts of Southwest Virginia, Governor Bob McDonnell toured the area to check out the recovery efforts.

The Governor visited both Washington and Pulaski Counties on Friday.

Four people were killed when a tornado tore through Washington County on April 27, 2011, damaging homes and businesses.

Several weeks earlier, on April 8, 2011 a tornado touched down in Pulaski County. Eight people were injured by the tornado, which did $5 million in damage.
