CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) - Fire crews are still investigating an overnight two-alarm fire at the Vinings apartment complex off Iron Bridge Road in Chesterfield County, according to Fire Battalion Chief David Bailey. The fire did leave 30 people homeless.

Bailey said firefighters were called to the complex around 3:30 Saturday morning. The fire was marked under control an hour later.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but Chief Robbie Dawson with CFD told CBS 6 they have determined the cause to be accidental. Investigators have also established that the fire started outside of the building.

Bailey said one resident suffered a minor injury and was treated on the scene and released. One fire fighter was transported to the hospital after a roof collapsed, but he was later released as well, with an ankle injury.

The Red Cross has stepped in to assist the residents, have will all be relocated to other apartments in the complex.
