RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR)- Richmond Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect who seriously wounded a man downtown Saturday evening.
Police say the call came in around 5:15 p.m. Saturday from the victim, 21 year-old Corey Mayo, reporting he had been shot. When officers responded they found Mayo lying on Clay St. between 1st and 2nd St.
The crime scene was found nearby, when investigators located shell casings in the 300 block of N. 1st St.
Mayo was taken to VCU Medical Center where he remains Sunday morning. He is expected to survive.
Officers do not have a clear description of the suspect, so anyone who may have been in the area Saturday is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000.
