RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Before the cold front passed late Wednesday, central Virginia had plenty of sunshine and an ample warm-up aided by westerly winds. The high temperature at Richmond International Airport was 86 degrees April 4, 2012. This was a mere one degree shy of tying the standing record high of 87 degrees (set just last year on April 4, 2011)! The average high for this time in early April is 67 degrees.

The next seven days do not appear to feature any recurrence of this much-warmer-than-average weather. In fact, by the middle of next week, there is indication we’ll be much cooler-than-average with highs struggling to reach 60 degrees!
