HANOVER, Va. (WTVR) – A man who investigators said was arguing with a friend at his house, grabbed a shotgun and shot his friend was back in court Tuesday.
Michael Finney was formally sentenced to life in prison for Robert Locklear’s murder.
Deputies were called to Finney’s home in the 11100 block of Dude Ranche Road on July 25, 2011 around 8:15 p.m.
Authorities said Locklear was visiting Finney when the two began arguing and Finney retrieved a gun and shot Locklear in his front yard. Locklear died a few minutes later.
Finney was later arrested and charged with first degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
