Community talkback to highlight rezoning efforts for Richmond Public Schools

Posted

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR)- There’s a chance Tuesday to hear more and give input on a Richmond Public Schools Committee’s rezoning plans.

In February, committee members presented part of their rezoning plans at a forum, announcing a few possible options, such as closing Summer Hill, John B. Cary, and Fisher Elementary Schools.

The school system is looking to save money by closing select buildings that are underutilized because of population changes in some neighborhoods.

A community meeting on the rezoning plans is scheduled from 6:30 to 7:30 Tuesday evening, in the John Marshall High School Auditorium.
