UPDATE: Police identify victim of deadly Southside shooting

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Richmond Police are looking for a suspect wanted in connection with a deadly shooting South Richmond.

Police were called to a home on the 1500 block of Columbia Street just before 2 a.m.  Friday. The found a man who had been shot several times. He was taken to VCU Medical Center where he later died.

On Sunday, RPD identified the victim of the shooting to be Jerrod D. Oliver, 29, of the 1500 block of Columbia Street.

Police said Friday afternoon that 27-year-old Michael Alonzo Robinson Jr. is wanted in connection with the crime on robbery and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony charges.

Robinson is described as a black male around is 5-feet 10- inches tall and weighing about 170 pounds. His last known address is in the 11000 block of North Lodore Road in Amelia, Va.

Police said Robinson poses a threat to the public.
